It was not until recently I let go of one of my many fears, and started taking my one year old daughter in the bike. Maybe this Sunday was her 3rd or 4th time in the bike sandwiched between my husband and I.
As soon as the ride started she dozed off to sleep, in the very hot sun with her recently shaved head. I was cautiously covering her head with her hat (oh she never likes anything on her head) and wrapping her arms and legs to prevent them from sunburn. It all went fine until we took a turn toward Koyambedu.
We were too close to a public bus and suddenly I could see my husband struggling to apply brake. And with some slight zigzags the bike was stopped. The food packets we had over the petrol tank fell on the floor.
I could not think about anything except my lo who was peacefully sleeping leaning on me.
Shhhhhhh!!! Those few seconds were so scary.
The images of her falling down on the heavy traffic road and the vehicles dashing her, blah blah were passing through my mind.
Suddenly I saw a guy walking toward us handing us the food packets. And there were no vehicles behind us for few seconds. Things seemed alright, though we could not relax.
We again moved forward thanking the Lord from the depth of our hearts! It was He who kept us safe, without even disturbing my daughter’s sleep. He indeed neither sleeps nor slumbers. Praise be to Him!!! He is awesome!!!
Thanking God for his protection
