I have been trying to write this testimony for long (6
years! Sooo long!!). I had promised God I will do it but kept procrastinating.
God gave me the Grace to write it today 😊 at last!
6 years lot of things have changed, so I am not sure how
many of you guys remember me and my prayer requests. I was in desperate need of
a project and I had a visa with me. By Gods Grace and by the prayers of the
wonderful prayer warriors of Infosys I was able to get a project and travel to
Onsite.
For most of us IT folks the dream is to come to onsite, and
in the current situation with new USCIS rules, Trumps policies everything might
seem grim! If any of you are in that situation don’t lose hope, hang in there!
About 8 years back I was in the same boat, for two consecutive years my name
was listed for visa initiation by my managers but rejected by DM (My DMs words
were Women don’t generate revenue as they request an early return from onsite).
After a lot of struggle and promising I will stay in US for 2 years and will
not request to come back in a year he approved my request for visa initiation.
Due to lack of projects in my account, the same DM who
wanted me to stay 2 years released me from the project. Now I was left with a
visa no projects, desperately searching for an opportunity. By God’s Grace I
did get a project but had to travel to Trivandrum for training. Got KTs,
trainings etc, but unfortunately that project was scraped! All I could do was
cry out to the Lord, Jesus Father why this is happening to me, why me!! But he
gave me the courage to carry my cross.
Mathew 11:29-30
29 Take my yoke upon you and learn of me; for I am meek
and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke
is easy, and my burden is light.
Jesus asks us to take his yoke (a wooden crosspiece that is
fastened over the necks of two animals and attached to the plow or cart that
they are to pull). If an animal were to plow a field without the yoke, how hard
it would be for it, but with the yoke its burden is reduced. God is requesting
us to do the same. Any worries, burden, cross that we carry he asks us to place
it in his arms and to lean on him.
I did the same, cried out to him and left all my worries on
his feet. He answered my prayer. I got another project in Trivandrum, but a new
technology! 6 years of exp in a technology I had to push it to the back seat
and start new. I felt my world crashing all around me! But I knew Christ was
with me even in my darkest moments and he will never leave me. I decided to
trust Him rather than my doubts and fear. At last travelled to US, new project,
new place, I did not know anyone from the place I was travelling to, had to
leave my 4-year-old and my husband, only hope was My Christ (that is all we need!
If he is there with us who can be against us!)
But God did not stop testing me, he wanted to strengthen my
faith in Him! After about 2 months into the new project, my manager informed me
that client has suddenly requested that I complete a certification in the new
technology I was working on, as they wanted me to lead the project. And the
training would cost around $2000 and the certification would cost $250. Since
these certifications and training were need based, Infosys will reimburse only
once I clear the certification! (I really hope the policies are changed now).
My poor manager did not know what to do, he just encouraged me to do the
certification and said he can lend me his credit card, and I can repay him
later. I would every day cry out to the Lord to help me! I had left my family
in desperate need to fulfill some of the financial commitments we had and now I
fall into more debt!
Deuteronomy 15:6
For the LORD your God will bless you as he has promised, and
you will lend to many nations but will borrow from none.
Just as he promised he gave me the knowledge and Wisdom to
clear my certification and I was able to reimburse the money from Infosys.
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the
LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope
and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
I have always wondered why God let so many hardships cross my
way! Even if we are not faithful, He is. He loves us and always has a plan for
us.
God made way for my Family to join me in US. Fast forward 6
years, because of the new technology that I learned I was able to get a new
Job.
Any pain you go through God always turns it into Joy, so
never lose hope and keep trusting in his plans and his timing.
